The Nourisher - Editor’s Blog

When we got married the registry wouldn’t let me put Super Hero as my occupation, they put Home Duties on our marriage certificate instead. But I AM a Super Hero and my Super Hero name is…… The Nourisher.

I remember listening to an audio of a channel back in the nineties, when I used to do such a thing. I think it was Ramtha or something like that. The channel said we would see time speed up as the millennium ended. As we marched toward 2012, time would speed up so fast that a day would be like an hour. Most of us would be in denial about it but that is exactly what would happen. I remember thinking, how the hell would we get everything done. What she didn’t say was that we would speed up too. What we could accomplish in a day would grow in proportion. She was right.

Looking back on January, I get the sense that I have lived a whole year. So much has happened, we’ve achieved so much. And yet, I still feel compelled to plough ahead and grow some more. And what better way tool to use to grow than Nourishment.

Just quickly, since time is speeding up, I’ll outline the Nourished news.

The Directory, which was release at the end of December, has grown swiftly. We have been joined by:
Nui-Generation - a beacon of a company set to Nourish the entire Pacific Region with their wise and fair trading policies, delicious coconut products and divine coconut skin care. If you join them in their quest you will help support Pacific Nations and receive a free Nui Body Bar. mmmm
Witch’s Brew - our favourite old fashioned skin cream, made from grass fed lard, fermented and unrefined ingredients.
Green Pastures - simply the best nutrient dense food supplements available.
Pasture Perfect Pork - we’ve enjoyed Miriam’s posts and photos for a while now. She’s offered a free gift to Nourished Magazine readers who establish a line of her product in their local butcher. The gift is, of course, a pack of Pasture Perfect Pork to the value of $50. Her ham and bacon is nitrate free and so delicious, so get out there and start nagging your butcher.
Aphrodite - Sallie not only supplies Melbourne and some of Sydney with unpasteurised bath milk, she is internet saavy and filled with passion. She offers a month’s supply of her milk to any Nourished Magazine readers who get their local store to carry her milk.
Mitchell Grass Meats - Animals grown with respect for them, the land and your body. Grass Fed on natural Savanah in Western Queensland and delivered to your door. Anna offers Nourished Readers her meat at last year’s prices!
Relish Organics - a Gold Coast store which offers all your Nourishing Wise foods. Congrats to Luke who has become a father this month. I told you lots has happened.
Karen McElroy - a Naturopath from Noosa who is wise to the ways of Nourishment is our first practitioner. She does do phone and email consultation and offers Nourished readers a discount.
There’s room for many more members, dear Nourishers. If you know any retail stores, producers or Nourishing practitioners, please let them know about the Directory and let us know about them. We will always make sure anyone who joins aligns with our Principles of Nourishment and offers you all a special deal for being Nourishers.
ntshirtlogolg.jpgThe Shop, also launched in December now sells our very own Organic Nourished Magazine T Shirt. We gave one away during the month to Kathryn for telling us why it’s mildly subversive. See if you can guess yourself. The shop also has a range of Nourishing books to choose from. We hope to increase what is available and welcome your suggests.
Karina a Mum from Australia who now lives in Scotland started her blog this month. A wonderful writer with a strong spirit of adventure, she shares her journey from Vegan to Nourished. Join in the conversation and welcome her in.
We are looking for Nourishers in Melbourne, Sunshine Coast, Sydney, North Sydney and Perth to help us with the Directory. If you want to earn a little extra cash and be instrumental in developing a strong community of Nourishers on line, drop us a line.
Personally, we are about to move house, taking the whole some of the community (Dan and Sarah) and the yurt with us. In fact the yurt has multiplied. It’s had a baby…we’re buying another smaller one. The space is so beautiful, we want one to sleep in and one to work in. Sleeping electricity free and close to the ground is wonderful. Now all we need is a landlord who’s cool for us to have a couple of tents in the yard.

Wes and I had a wonderful time at the Woodford folk festival, in the mud. We got to hear some very inspirational talks about health and the environment. Our highlight was listening to Claude Lewenz talk about the human scaled village. The music was great as was the break from kids - very romantic in the mud.

We’ve come back with some great ideas about moving the Nourished Magazine experience up a notch or two. We’re thinking video, audio, interactive learning environments. A university of Nourishment online. We welcome any Nourishing ideas to make this site a better place. Just comment below.

Thank the Goddess our ability to create our dreams is increasing along side the speed of time. Big changes are in the air and we hope to help many, many, many not only to survive, but to thrive. I remember Ramtha (or whoever it was) saying that some will bend with the changes and some will break. Lets bend and flow, dear Nourisher, with our well Nourished bodies and minds into a thoroughly inspired and deeply Nourishing way to live with each other and our world.
