The Nourisher - Editor’s Blog

When we got married the registry wouldn’t let me put Super Hero as my occupation, they put Home Duties on our marriage certificate instead. But I AM a Super Hero and my Super Hero name is…… The Nourisher.

Everyone’s a Winner Babe..

By Joanne Hay

Congratulations Julia R for winning the Just Site Prize, 4 luxurious Bamboo Towel sets valued at $240.

justsite.jpgShe said, “I feel like a queen… They’re so soft and absorptive… The colours are wonderful. Can you thank Just Site for this wonderful gift.” We’ll do that Julia and thanks for subscribing to our Nourishing community.

Congratulations to Lani, Lauren, Kez, Shanna and Elsie who won our pass it forward prizes. You will receive your batch of Kefir grains soon.

kefir-grain.jpgIt’s so nice to be able to give you hard working Nourishers a reward for saving the world. I’m sure there’ll be lots of questions about Kefir so I’m going to the Doyenne of Kefir himself, Dom from Kefir Insite. Hopefully he’ll contribute to next month’s edition and fill you all in on how to use your Kefir.

What’s next

End of January, we’re giving away a Nourishing Pack.

prizejan08.jpgWith Green Pastures Butter Oil and Fermented Cod Liver Oil, Nui Organic Fair Trade Food and Cosmetics, A copy of Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon, and a NEW Nourished Magazine Organic T-Shirt. All you have to do to win is be a subscriber. So sign up if you haven’t already. Nourish your friends and share the love by clicking the box top right of your newsletter and telling your friends about us. You may win a batch of Kefir.

Our New Baby

Everyone is a winner since we’ve now launched our New Nourished Australian Directory. Readers can search for Nourishing products, services and practitioners and wise foods in their region. You can ask the directory members those questions you whisper to yourself while surveying their label in the store. They’d love to answer your queries, share more of their vision and offer Nourished readers all sorts of specials. Our baby is still young but we hope it will thrive. Especially if you, dear Nourishers, help it grow by commenting on the posts of the current Sponsors and making suggestions to us of businesses and products you use in your Nourishing lifestyle. Send us an email now if you can think of Nourishers you’d like to see in our directory.

It’s hard for those we invite to join to say no. Never before have they had a concentrated audience so passionate about their products and service as are you, dear Nourishers. Never before have they been able to have public dialogue with the very customers who Nourish their business. We will be very particular with whom we share the permission you have given us to share information with you. They must align with our Principles of Nourishment and abide by internet etiquette. They will not contact you unless you have given them permission to do so and they will value greatly any feedback you have for them. We’re all in this revolution together and the more we can help each other thrive the stronger we become. We CAN Nourish ourselves and our Earth back to health.

Nourishing Store

Don’t lets forget our other baby, the Nourishing Store. We’re starting with a small range of Nourishing books and of course, the New Nourished Magazine Organic T-Shirt. It’s cute and saucy at the same time. See if you can pick why. The first one to comment here, why it’s a little subversive will receive one for free.shirt.jpg

  1. Love the tee. It looks soft and organic and shows that earthy love with the colour of the heart! I want one!

  2. Begone the awful underwire!

Love to see a model wearing no bra!

Cute and saucy and mildly subversive indeed, but also very nourishing to ones breasts to have optimal circulation to these important and nourishing cells.

Does it mean that women are the wisest and they are going to overrule the men????

  5. Lovely t-shirt. Very yonic! Or is that just me reading too much on midwifery!

I guess this is right place to make a comment on the T-shirt. Why it looks saucy? Perhaps it has to do with the way that the logo has been strategically placed in the middle! Especially nice on the girls and looks very cute (that’s sexy cute!) on the model! Is that you, Joanne? Cheers, Leila

  7. Forgive me if I am wrong but thinking along the saucy lines… I think the inside of the heart is designed to represent the female reproductive parts.

  8. Well, I’ve been looking and thinking long and hard and the only thing I can come up with is that maybe through the centre of the heart is a depiction of the female genitalia?? I almost blushing and giggling just typing that! Isnt that silly! :P

  9. Kathryn, you are the winner ’cause you were first to get it right. Email me with your address and your size. I’ll send it off to you tomorrow.

When we were brainstorming about a design for the Organic Nourished T Shirt I asked Darling Husband, Wes, what was the most Nourishing thing he could think of. Guess what he said? Shani and Belinda, well done, you got it right too and I love your comment about bras Sarah. Too true, too true.

Now don’t tell anyone when you’re wearing your new Organic Nourished T Shirts what the art work is. Just see what their comments are. Symbols speak to people subconsciously and absolutely everyone who sees you in your T Shirt will hear us.

    The Goddess is Back!

  10. Yey! It must be my lucky day! I’ve also found out today that I’ve been accepted into uni as a mature student. I’ll be wearing the shirt with pride! Many thanks. :)

  11. Love it! Love the Goddess! She is back, alright. Lisa in Minnesota

  12. Hehe, not really a fair competition, all the responses were from the girls! As you know, us fellas are mono-taskers, not multi-taskers: we were all too busy enjoying the picture to be able to type a word! ;-)

  13. Thanks all for your comments. It was so-o-o much fun watching you all guess. It’s funny how we can feel each other through these words on this screen. Shani’s giggles were catching and Lisa Z’s air punching was obvious.

Peter. Thanks for your appreciation. Goddess knows we need it. Praise Nourishes the Feminine.

No Leila it’s not me in the photo. Do those virginal little cups look like the breasts of a woman with three children? Mine are pretty (as are every woman’s) but not quite so perky as these.

Congratulations to Jude, Belinda, Louise, Emma and Mrs C. You’ve won a batch of Kefir each. I really need to get onto Dom to show us how to care for these little guys. I let mine go over Christmas. Will have to feed them well to grow enough to send to you girls as well as next month’s winners.

  14. Oh it makes me want to move back to Australia!

  15. It makes me want to move there period!

  16. Karina, you don’t have to be in Australia to win prizes you know. Some US readers have won some also. Chin up girls. Stay tuned though. We intend to release a US and UK version of Nourished (with directory) soon. More chances to win prizes and meet more Nourishers in your area.

  17. Hooray!

  18. Woohoo! I look forward to that! If there is any way I can be of help just let me know. K xx

  19. Love the shirt! It’s simple yet looks fashionably retro or something to that effect. Anyway, this is a great way to encourage more people to live a healthier and more nourished lifestyle. The nourishing pack sounds very exciting and I’m sure a lot of readers/lurkers have their eye on that prize. Also, thanks for sharing a directory with us. That way, we can go in search of healthier products on our own as well.
