While my family and small community are enjoying the bounty of raw, grass fed milk supplied by my friend who works on a local dairy farm, we dream of a herd share. A group of people empowering a local dairy farmer to manage THEIR herd of dairy cattle at the cost of so-and-so per litre of milk. We dream of our community’s supply of milk taken from the greedy clutches of big brother corporations. We dream of our whole community drinking delicious, healthy, RAW milk.
Right now our dream is at an amber light.
We have a community of people who understand the value of community supported agriculture, here in Byron Bay. We have a farmer’s market willing to offer a stall for a herd share in order to supply the local community with good quality, grass fed,raw milk. We have two solicitors willing to work with our community to take the legal sidestep needed to create this herd share and we have a number of local farmers willing to manage the community’s herd.
All we need is a person willing to take on the project of connecting all the dots and running the farmers market stall. If you know anyone locally who would like to work for themselves or someone looking for a reason to move to Beautiful Byron Bay, let them know we looking for them. Give us a green light here. Leave a comment.

HI Joanne,
Hey this sounds like jsut the kind of thing that so many of us in Byron would appreciate.
From a practical standpoint our web design studio would be willing trade herd shares for services to maintain a register and web portal for paticipants.
Give us a call on 1300 85 90 88 or visit our website at http://www.kimachi.com and send us an email.
While contact lists and databases may seem boring to some people we see them as the best way to organise and empower a community which is already well intentioned and passionate.
Kind Regards,
Julian Woolford
