I've found the cheapest form of unrefined sugar here in Australia is palm sugar (from coconut palms) - you can even get it in my local supermarket. Unfortunately it comes in little cakes which is OK when the sugar is dissolved in a liquid but needs to be grated for other recipes. That's one incentive for cutting back on the amount of sugar - it's an effort grating it!</description>
